Anthropological Objects from France

 



Gargoyle

Typical gothic GARGOYLE sculpture that represents one of the Gargoyle personalities, sitting at the outside facade of the towers on the french cathedral Notre Dame in Paris. 

The ceramic was acquired for CID Institute Museum during July 1998 at LES PIERRES DE CUCUGNAN artisan store in Cucugnan. The historic southern France village is a well conserved settlement in the Cathar region of french Langedoc-Roussillion Province, the famous retrieval and resistance area of believing people during the Albigensian Cruzades 1209-1229 DC. Cucugnan is famous because of the nearby QUERIBUS fortress that allows to see the sunrise over the Mediterranean Sea. 








Belier S.F.C.A.

A metal Key Ring Pendant with the coat of arms of the Air Commissioners Fabrication Service S.F.C.A. at Ris Orangis, a former military, French Air Force related construction service situated in the southern Paris suburb of Ris Orangis / Essonne department

The coat of arms badge is a donation of Missis Florence Leclerc to the CID Institute Museum Collection from 1979-82








Fleur de Lys - Box

Ceramic box with Fleur-de-Lys design on it´s lid. Fleur de Lys - the stylized Lilly Flower - is the always present symbol on weapon shields of the French Monarchy

The box belongs to the CID Institute Museum Patrroness Mrs. Rosemarie Fanger and entered into the museum collection after her death in november / december 2012
